The Salted Pearl is a St. Roch Market classic in the making

Hey all,

The Salted Pearl, The Seafood and Oyster bar at St. Roch Market is really shaping up to be something special. If you’re a fan of fresh, locally sourced seafood, you’re in for a real treat. Seafood is an important part of St. Roch Market and I want to tell you about what we’ve got going on because I’m really excited about it.

First off, Happy Hour at The Salted Pearl is amazing. I have an alert on my computer to let me know when it starts! Join us Monday through Friday from 3pm to 5pm for $8 half-dozen oysters or $14 for a dozen. It’s fun to sit around the bar and chat with the community of locals that have found this special, It’s really becoming a thing.

The Salted Pearl sources its oysters directly from 5th generation local oyster fishermen. They buy them buy straight from the boat, ensuring the oysters are as fresh as they can be. They’re committed to using only Louisiana seafood, (with the exception of lobsters, which come from Maine).

The Salted Pearl also collaborates with local producers like Sam’s Sprouts in Folsom, LA, for their microgreens. You can taste the commitment to local sourcing. The sprouts are so flavorful!

Our talented Chef Micah Martello brings years of expertise to The Salted Pearl. Throughout the early 2000s, Chef Micah was ranked number 7 in the top 100 chefs in the country by Chef2Chef.org. His passion for fresh, flavorful seafood shines through in every dish. Check out all the other dishes he has on the menu by clicking here.

On weekends, he’s got seasonal seafood specials. There’s always something new and exciting to try. I’m expected to be blown away, and I’m even more blown away every time he’s doing a new dish. Micah is really having fun back crafting seafood dishes and it really shows.

We’re also proud to support environmental sustainability. The Salted Pearl recycles oyster shells to help rebuild the Louisiana coastline. Plus, they hand-make and sell oyster shell art and gifts, adding a unique touch to your market visit.

I’m listening to your suggestions as I work hard to craft a sustainable St. Roch Market. From the new Roch and Claude Deli to the Seafood dishes and oyster specials at The Salted Pearl. Please do let me know what you want to see at St. Roch Market next and I’ll start looking for the person that can run that stall concept at the market. I already have a good list of people that want into St. Roch Market as a vendor but the challenge is making sure all the vendors complement each other. So the list I have going isn’t a first come first serve kind of thing. The next vendor in will be one that the neighborhood asks for. Also, do you or someone you know have a great idea for St. Roch and want to become a vendor? Let me know your plan!

Come by and try out the The Salted Pearl if you haven’t done so already. Whether you’re here for Happy Hour, a quick bite, or a full seafood feast you’ll be blown away. The sales don’t l lie The Salted Pearl is already a new favorite at St. Roch Market.

Meet me at St. Roch,

Kevin Pedeaux
